Description
Kusugu Well is an ancient historic site located in Daura, Katsina State, Nigeria. It's famously tied to the legend of Bayajidda, a hero who defeated a giant snake named Sarki that restricted access to the well, allowing people to fetch water only on Fridays. According to Hausa myth, Bayajidda's bravery not only freed the people of Daura but also led to his marriage with Queen Daurama, resulting in the birth of seven children who went on to rule the seven Hausa states.
