Nekede Zoological Garden was a government-owned zoo located in Nekede, just outside Owerri, the capital city of Imo State, Nigeria. Established in 1976, it was the only operational zoo in southeastern Nigeria for many years. Nestled within a tropical rainforest near the Otamiri River, it once served as a hub for conservation, recreation, education, and ecotourism.
